John Dodge

An active horn soloist, a promoter of new horn music and a teacher, John Tyler Dodge regularly performs recitals, concertos, and chamber music throughout Chile and the western United States.

Mr. Dodge is the Associate Principal Hornist of the Teatro Municipal de Santiago, Chile where he performs in concerts, operas, and ballets.

John Tyler Dodge has had an active and eclectic career. A graduate of Pacific Lutheran University, he taught band and orchestra in public school for four years before entering the University of Oregon School of Music and Dance where he earned his Master’s Degree in Horn Performance. While studying with William VerMeulen at Rice University in 2010 he won his current position as Associate Principal Hornist at the Teatro Municipal de Santiago.

During the 2014 season Mr. Dodge performed as principal horn in the chilean premiere of opera Katia Kabanova by Leos Janacek. Read a review of the opera (here).
