Luca Benucci deve il successo non solo al proprio talento ma anche alla dedizione alla musica e a una personalità molto decisa. A 18 anni, appena diplomato al Conservatorio di Firenze, parte per Chicago; qui studia con Dale Clevenger e Arnold Jacobs, il cui insegnamento dà una svolta fondamentale alla sua formazione. Tornato in Europa inizia presto a vincere concorsi per primo corno, ma continua a cercare l'insegnamento di colleghi più affermati come Roger Bobo, Guelfo Nalli, Stefan Dohr, Fergus Mc William, Radovan Vlaktovic, Frank Loyd. Dal 1992 al 1995 è primo corno solista della Mittel Deutches Runfunk Sinfonie Orchester di Lipsia, e dal 1995 in poi è primo corno solista dell'Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.
Personalità vulcanica, è spesso a giro per il mondo a suonare con alcune delle orchestre più famose (tra le altre: Berliner Philharmoniker, Chicago Symphony, Filarmonica della Scala), a tenere masterclasses, a partecipare a importanti festival internazionali e a commissoni di concorso; ha suonato con alcuni dei direttori più famosi (tra cui Muti, Maazel, Chailly, Ozawa, Sawallish, C. Abbado, Pretre), e dirige lui stesso (Italian Chamber Orchestra, Wood&Brass Ensemble, World Youth Orchestra, Brass Dimension Ensemble, Orchestra di fiati "Leopolda" di Firenze). Inoltre è il fondatore e Direttore Artistico del Festival "Santa Fiora in Musica", supervisore del "Sardinia Festival", e fondatore di diversi ensemble, tra cui il Nuovo Quintetto Italiano. Luca Benucci owes his success not only to his talent but also to his dedication to music and to a strong personality. At 18, just after the conclusion of his Conservatory studies in Florence, he leaves to Chicago; here he studies with Dale Clevenger and Arnold Jacobs, whose teaching constitutes an important milestone of his formation. After coming back to Europe he begins winning auditions for first horn, but he still looks for the teaching of renowned hornists like Roger Bobo, Guelfo Nalli, Stefan Dohr, Fergus Mc William, Radovan Vlaktovic, Frank Loyd. From 1992 to 1995 he is first solo horn of the Mittel Deutches Runfunk Sinfonie Orchester di Lipsia, and since 1995 he is first solo horn of the Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.
An energetic personality, Luca Benucci travels often all over the world, playing with some of the most renowned orchestras (Berliner Philharmoniker, Chicago Symphony, Filarmonica della Scala and several others) and in important international festivals, holding masterclasses, and being in audition committees; he has played with some of the most renowned conductors (Muti, Maazel, Chailly, Ozawa, Sawallish, C.
