Hans Pizka è un cultore della tradizione Viennese.
Figlio d'arte (il padre Erich, cornista e docente,
ha composto i quartetti che Hans ha registrato insieme a colleghi con corni viennesi),
ha studiato con Gottfried von Freiberg e
ha iniziato la carriera professionale a quindici anni.
Da molti anni è primo corno all'Opera di Stato di Monaco di Baviera
(il posto che fu di Franz Strauss!).
Ha anche svolto un'intensa carriera come solista e ha registrato numerosi dischi.
Inoltre ha eseguito in pubblico il Grande Squillo del Sigfrido per oltre 150 volte;
nel maggio del 2003 ha superato il precedente record di Gerd Seifert (151).
È un esperto sulla storia del corno e per tutto ciò che riguarda lo strumento.
Produce un modello di corno doppio e uno di corno Viennese, e bocchini secondo la tradizione Viennese;
possiede una Casa Editrice specializzata in musica per corno (ma non solo);
è autore del libro "Mozart and the Horn" che è stato recentemente
ripubblicato su CD ROM.

Hans Pizka is a follower of the Viennese tradition.
Born of a musical family (his father Erich, hornist and teacher, composed the horn quartets
that Hans recorded together with collegues with Vienna horns),
he studied with Gottfried von Freiberg and began his professional carreer at 15.
Since many years he is principal horn of the State Opera of Munich
(the chair of Franz Strauss!).
He also has had an intense carreer as a soloist and has recorded several CDs.
He has performed Siegfried's Great Call more than 150 times;
in May 2003 he passed Gerd Seifert's record (151).
He is an expert about the history of the horn and everything regarding the instrument.
He produces a Viennese bore double horn and a Viennese horn,
and a model of mouthpiece following the Viennese tradition;
he is a Publisher specialized in horn music (but not only that);
he is the author of the book "Mozart and the Horn"
which has been recently republished on CD ROM.
